  • He sounds like a very unhappy person and someone who therefore makes life very difficult for those around him.

    The best you can do is figure out how to do the minimum necessary to avoid provoking him. Hear all of his criticism as the rantings of someone who feels a desperate need to exert control and feel superior but who knows deep-down that he's a pathetic little man.

    You can't control how he is, but you do have some control over how you choose to react to what he says and does.

    It's very sad when kids can't respect or even like their parents very much, but unfortunately that's just the way life goes when the only qualification necessary to have kids is a couple who have at least one functional testicle and one ovary between them.

    Oh, and stop thinking of killing him. If you do that, you're only going to ensure that his malign influence on your life continues until the day you die.
