Is it normal to wish you had no emotions?

  • It is common to think this, especially if you've found yourself in situations like that before, but to an extent it is a black and white way to view the world. Similar to the Buddhist who wishes to eliminate all desire I feel the intention is good, but the thought process not giving enough credit to the broad scope of duality.

    Even though I know some people have discredited the older philosophers due to the differences between then and now, I like the way Plato split it up. There are appetites, emotions, and reason. Emotions should rule appetites, and reason should rule emotion, so that all things are checked and balanced accordingly.
