In New Zealand we have an extremely good universal healthcare system. It is funded from our taxes and if you get sick or have an accident you go to hospital, get treated, recover and then carry on with your life just like you did before you were sick.
If you have an accident in the workplace in New Zealand Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) will come to the workplace and investigate the working conditions there and make sure the employer is not breaking any laws regarding safety in the workplace.
That sounds excellent! Here in the US, not only do we not have guaranteed access to healthcare, our 'workplace safety' agencies and workman's compensation insurance are quite crooked as well.
