Is it normal to wish all those who are weak death.....

So i was wondering is it normal to wish that all those people with mental retardation, genetic problems, weak body. to wish them death?

I think medicine has it all wrong....

Medicine should be to fix epidemic like problems, and everything that goes wrong with you if were born healthy. But everyone else who wasn't born healthy should die......

Let natural selection continued. stop allowing bad genes stay in the gene pool......

SO Is it normal, or am i the next mass killer?

    This is a tough situation.

I dont agree 100% with what your saying, but I understand. I do agree in natural selection, and I do not agree that we use hospital's, medicine's and lots of money to keep people alive that cannot even contribute to society (or who will die soon even WITH medical help)

But I also at the same time believe everyone has the right to exist.

Just maybe we shouldn't waste so much time, money & effort on keeping sick people who will die soon anyways, alive.

I believe that maybe you don't understand the complexity of genetic disorders, the gene pool or natural selection.

Many genetic disorders are due to homozygous recessive genes. Basically it means that each parent carries a recessive gene which means their child could be born with homozygous recessive genes. This would results in the child receiving and expressing a genetic disorder. You can be a carrier of a recessive gene and not express any type of genetic disorder. But if you have a child with another carrier then it results in the 50%% chance that the child will express the genetic disorder. So you don't have to kill babies with genetic issues this doesn't solve the root of the problem. Might as well just kill anyone that is a carrier of a recessive gene which would probably wipe out humans. Most of us probably have at least one recessive gene. Children with genetics disorder can still have healthy babies. It all depends if their mate has the recessive gene. Plants and other animals have the same issues with recessive genes. Certain plants have actually gotten rid of recessive genes but plants tend to have fewer recessive genes. So you see the genetics is complex and I could write pages and pages of why letting weak and "inferior" babies won't get rid of "bad genes."

Natural selection and evolution will never make the prefect organism or the super man type of human being. Natural selection and evolution can only work with genes that are present in the gene pool. The only way to make genes is mutations. Mutations can be helpful and harmful. Some unlucky ones get harmful mutations, but they still deserve happiness. We all deserve happiness even if we with autism or a genetic disorder.

Haha! I was thinking of the Nazis, but I didn't think of eugenics specifically. Kudos!

The genes, which have been in humans for millions of years, aren't going to just vanish. Down Syndrome won't disappear by killing DS people (incase you haven't noticed, most DM people don't have kids...). Have you ever done biology? Or do you just have a vague knowelage of genes and natural selection...

Also, some of the most important people have had something wrong with them. Ever seen the film "My Left Foot"? It's about an ingenius painter, who's physicaly disabled. John Nash, one of the greatest mathematicians ever, is schizophrenic.

Understood. It's kind of an odd thought. While wishing death on them is a little extreme IMHO, one can't help but think of the flip side of saving lives. Say you keep someone alive with a genetic defect that normally would not live to adulthood, and now they can produce a child. The children are then likely to have or have genes to pass on this defect, thereby making defects more common and thus weakening the species in a biological sense. However, we do have the Knowledge and skill to manage these problems...and every effort should be made to make life the best possible for all involved. How would you feel if it were you/your child?!

Think of any and all friends and family that come to mind and give each of them a different 'defect'. Imagine them being part of the people who deserve to die and if you still want to kill them then i feel sorry for your friends and family.

I do however agree with your point and still do after going through the scenario above. I guess i'm just incredibly apathetic about life.

I think those who can't function by them selves as member of society should be left to die or kill.... or not allowed to live i know this is somewhat horrible but is messing our gene pool....

  • I have MS but I bust my ass and tend to outwork many capible people, so how far do you mean.

On another note, I agree. My son is autistic and my fiance works with clients who have not and will never be able to help themselves, so I see your point.

I think that the best thing to do would be for everyone who`s able to reproduce should have genetic tests, & those found to be carrying serious illnesses offered the option of being sterilised. That`s the best way to create a healthier population. Bring back survival of the fittest.
