Is it normal to whip yourself

im not religious, i dont do this for a god or something, sometimes when im mad or sad i take a charger cable wrap it around my hand and take the long end and whip myself all over, its painful, yes but i get excited too i also do it when i wanna hurt people if i get angry at a friend i wanna hurt them, its the last resort to keep my anger in ive never yelled infront everyone, ive always kept it in. i also like seeing the redness on my skin when i stop its very pretty.
