Have you ever seen the movie Ed Wood? It's a biopic and the guy it's based on was a cross dresser. Might help you feel better about yourself if you watch it. It's a Johnny Depp and Tim Burton movie, during their early years before their artistic integrity came into question.
Not really normal in so much as the majority don't do it, but there's a sizeable community who enjoy cross-dressing so you're not alone.
Have to say, though, it's a little unfair to your girlfriend to be using her clothes without her permission. I suggest either you inform her and ask her permission, or buy your own lady clothes and leave hers be.
You can go to gay bars and be welcomed with open arms (and legs lol). There are also drag events, and when it gets around Halloween time, there is Rocky Horror Picture Show. I was able to go to that with my ex, and enjoy openly cross dressing without her knowing about my fetish.
Crossdressing is pretty normal although most probably won't admit to it. How do you think your girlfriend would react if you told her about this? If she might be okay with it it might be a good idea to talk to her about it. Also it would probably go a lot better then if you were caught in the act with no explanation.
