Is it normal to wear a wool hat when it's 70 degrees out?

I got some funny looks while wearing a wool hat today and it was 70°. The reason I wear it is because I think it makes me look better than when I wear a baseball cap or no hat. I was just wondering if the weird looks had more to do with the wool hat not making me look better or if the looks were just from wearing a wool hat when it was 70. It's late October now so it's not summertime anymore but it was 70 today.

    • It's hard not to care, don't everybody want to feel accepted?

Not if they're people who won't accept you for who you are, especially just for the type of hat you wear.

It's like grownups of all ages are afraid to disagree with each other out of fear of not being accepted. When they see someone "different" like me, there is almost no one who has the guts to be individual minded and accept the different person out of fear of what others will think. That's what adults of all ages are like where I am here in the Midwest. Are the main flow of adults where you are like that?

I'm in the upper Midwest as well. Yes people are like that here too. I always get crap for my hats, I've been called Mary Poppins, to GI Joe. People just can't mind their own business. But I've gotten to the point I enjoy it now. Sometimes I dress like I just crawled out of a dumpster, or I'll put some good looking cloths on and act like a rich snob lol.

But as far as your wool hat goes, I think it's just fine. Put it back on go out and show it off, don't let the small minds shape your life, I know, it's easy to say, but it gets easier over time. People are going to judge no matter what we wear or what we do. Yes we are "different", some people will like it, some won't.

            • Alot of people don't like "different" here in Johnson county, Kansas. I've never seen such superficial, narrow minded people. And when you try talking to them, if they like you, they will agree with everything, seriously everything you say. If they don't like you, nothing you say to them seems to get through to them. Nothing. And their reasons for whether they'll like you or not are 100% shallow. I've never seen so many people act almost exactly the same as one another before anywhere else.

And there are alot of people here who say how wonderfully nice people are here. Yeh, of course they are super nice to them because they're just like them.

In the summer I wear long underwear with shorts because I think I look better than when I wear tighty whities.

Men shouldn't wear tighty whities anyway, should they? I myself prefer loosy woosies. Lol

Just do you. I often don't wear coats or jackets in the winter because I can tolerate cold weather very well. People think I'm crazy, but I don't care. It's not like I'm wearing a tank top lol.

I think you should worry less about what strangers think. But yeah, I would say it's normal overall.

Yeh, why worry about what every stranger thinks? It's not like you got the time to stop and think about every need of every stranger yourself, but still expecting them to each do that with someone? That there kinda makes it look one sided. I say, who gives a darn diddly arn, damn diddly am, just be a Flanders type neighbor. Lol. Oh I mean lol lillilly ol. Lol .
