  • I don't know if I would necessarily agree with that. So much gets tied up in congress and between the two parties (In the U.S. anyway) so someone coming in with radical ideas is probably going to run into a lot of road blocks.

If the people were better educated and better informed, this would work. But there is large scale ignorance in this country, voters need to pay attention to what's going in the world.

    • It's the same here, I guess, plus we never seem to get away from idea of politicians and businessmen "helping" each other out.

Governments (which govern themselves) can't be trusted to do the right thing without scrutiny and it really is up to the electorate to scrutinise better, as you say. There's ignorance in my country but there's also laziness.

The UK is abysmal in terms of waste, corruption, welfare fraud, and crippling the people who do contribute (business owners, and employees). I can see simple answers to some problems and I honestly believe I could improve some things if I was just given power and time. Sadly, I think most people could, but our thoughts don't map directly to a political party and our ideas are diluted out of existence.

I should find an island and start my own country.
