Is it normal to want to keep things that your exes gave you , eg . Photos , poems , teddies,

Because my new partner is very jealous I keep saying it means nothing because it was years ago and I am over them I just want to remember when I’m old ( not remember them now )like keep all the memories in a box and look back on my life , but he says it’s not normal And ripped everything up and says everyone gets rid of things from their exes and I shouldn’t want to remember . But he doesn’t understand I just want to look back on my life when I’m old and rmemeber past loves and see how my life turned out

    I keep everything too. Even of the ex of mine who turned out to be a jerk because I did love him and well fuck he was hot so why shouldn't I keep our pics together lmao..

    Yes it is right to remember all exes but keeping mementoes is a bit much. Just remember you learn by your mistakes!

    I use to have a folder on my pc that had nudes of every girl I was ever with and my bitch of a wife deleted it.

      Having nudes of your exes is very different from keeping mementos. If that's true, then your wife was right. How would you like it if you found out that your wife had kept nudes of all of her exes?

        She wasnt my wife at the time we werent even really dating. We were just fuck buddies. I dont give a shit how she felt about it it was my property and she was wrong. Kind of makes me mad thinking about it really. Had she given me the option to delete them or she leave me I would have chose the pictures at that time. Like I said I didn't really care about her romantically at that time.

      Good for her, if she has any sense she’ll delete you as well. The OP isn’t talking about keeping naked pictures of her exes she’s talking about things that represent memories of happy times gone by, we all have a history. I do the same but it’s because I, like her, want to look back on my life when I’m old and remember the past. You on the other hand clearly just want to perv over the women who probably saw you for what you are and moved on

        Thats exactly what I was doing. They were happy times with beautiful women. You talk like it's some bad thing. I wasn't disrespecting those women I admired their beauty. Those pictures were some of the best times ive had in my life. Those women consented to me taking those pictures and I'd never share them. You can turn it into a negative thing if you want but it's not to me. I hear your opinion tho.

          The problem here is you’re not looking at this from a woman’s point of view. No woman wants her husband ogling pictures of naked ex’s, you may not be a woman but I fail to see how you cannot understand this.

            It wasnt even my wife at the time tho. She was actually just a girlfriend and not even a long term one. We didn't even live together. Had she given me the option at that point to delete them or she would leave I would have took the pictures at that time. I didn't realize at that point we would have kids and she was just a casual sex partner. We were still seeing other ppl too.
