I sleep with my fan on every night, too. Even in the winter. It's totally normal. I can't sleep with silence because it feels totally empty with no noises to keep me.
I have bilateral tinnitus, so even when it's completely silent, I hear a constant ringing in my ears, but I hate it, and I prefer to run the fan too. It gets loud when it's silent. But even when I was younger, I preferred running the fan or something as opposed to silence.
I know what you feel like because i had temporary tinnitus caused by an inner ear infection. I remember having terrible insomnia the first night. I don't see why it would be illogical to sleep with a fan.
Is it normal to want to listen to a constant noise to help you sleep?

I assume running a fan all night takes a lot of electricity compared to running that white noise machine someone described earlier.
