A white noise machine? As in ghosts? Come to think of it, I should probably but some sort of machine like that, because it may be cheaper on electricity than running the fan all night.
I hear a constant ringing in my ears and I like to dilute the sound a little bit.
White noise is constant, repetitive yet soothing background noise. A fan is a great example, as is static on the TV. A white noise machine generates white noise for you. It may also have settings for different types of noises. Mine does. It has settings for ocean noises, crickets, rain (my favorite), and waterfall.
Ringing in your ears? Sounds like you have tinnitus. You might want to get it checked out if it's bothering you.
Yes, it's bilateral tinnitus, and I got a bad case of it, and there's no cure. I'm going to check out that machine. It sounds neat and it sounds like it'll save on electricity rather than running a fan.
Is it normal to want to listen to a constant noise to help you sleep?

Can you tell me where I can get such a machine? Does a place like Wal-Mart or Best Buy sell it?
