Is it normal to want to light things on fire

So, to start this of, ever since I was little I've always had a fascination with fire. I use to burn wood, insects, cotton, dried up plants, and other things which I could get a hold of. Now, as an Adult, I have a desire to burn more things, but on a larger scale. Is it normal for me to want to burn most of what I see? (Of course, not Humans or Animals. But insects, yeah.)

You might turn into a serial arsonist. You should probably seek help from a professional mental health practitioner.

Do not seek "help" from a "professional". This is coming from some one who sought help once. The very first thing the will tell you is that they need to inform the police. Since you have not yet committed a crime you are unlikely to start now. And seeking "help" will just cause problems later on.

I did a quick google and yes, you're right, it can be one of the signs. I already knew there was a link between sexual crimes and arson and in fact someone who raped me is not only a serial rapist/stalker and arsonist, but also strongly suspected of having killed women.

One of the symptoms, but not the first. As you said, cruelty to those weaker then the unsup is the most common starting place for serial killers. Also current psychology proffers no substantial link between sex offenders and arsonists except for adrenal addiction.

Insects are as alive as you are. Burning them is cruel and sadistic.

Insects do not feel the same pain humans feel. And It's mainly cockroaches, that do not help in any way.

    Firebugs Unite!

Just find a fireplace. Or get Minecraft and make a lighter and move to the forest.

I love to go camping just to have the excuse to light a fire.

I'm getting a lot of different Opinions. Just to make it a little more clear, I do not wish to hurt, or destroy anyone or anyone's property.

Just because you enjoy fire doesn't make you an arsonist. Most likely you just enjoy fire. As long as you follow your hobby safely and without committing a crime their is nothing wrong with it. Humanity has been fascinated by fire even before recorded history. Experimentation with fire is a part of development for many people, including yours truly. It is also an effective coping mechanism.

sometimes I just want to blow things up for the fun of it as long as it doesn't harm anyone. kinda like if you angry, hitting a punching bags lets off some steam. its like so much order in this world, chaos can be beautiful. but not anything crazy like isis. like knocking down a tower of dominoes feeling

I think it's normal. I want to do this too. If it's not normal, than we may have a problem.

    Getting professional evaluation wouldn't hurt
Just to see in what catagory you're in,
Maybe it's nothing big maybe it is,
But you wouldn't know until a proper evaluation
    Instead of stressing, find out
And let us all know.. educate us all

"professional evaluation" usually translates to "hey, I have another customer, please come back and pay me every week"

Kinda fucked if you graduate to hurting living things, insects people feed to their lizards every day.
