Is it normal to want to leave my house as soon as i'm 18
I live in a small house with no AC/swamp cooler and it is literally 95 degrees in here (hotter than outside). We are probably classified as lower middle class we don't live off the system (because apparently my stepmom makes to much money) so we don't qualify. My dad was recently fired from his job so he is now unemployed. Here's the sad part: to get by and survive in this household we must hoard. Meaning whatever we want we must get it before another person does no matter who paid for it. I pay for my shampoo and my stepmom goes crazy with it, when we have altercation she will be so vengeful it's rediculous she dumped my shampoo all over the bathtub so when I got in I ended up slipping on my own shampoo!!
Also they talk to me like a half retarded five-year old when telling me I need to give respect to get it and "this is how it's gonna be in the real world" (I'm 17, 18 in a month)
I was recently grounded for two weeks for "disrespecting" them. ( btw my dad threw me on the floor and left bruises on me) They took my laptop, that I paid for. And my phone. On top of that I could not go out of he house. Friday I got off being grounded and still was not aloud to go out!! This is pissing me off and I'm ready to kill!!! So tell me what I should do and if it is normal the way I am treated especially as a independent well mannered 17 year old??
