Is it normal to want to lay in bed all day?

I've recently noticed that my roommate has spent all her time sleeping or laying in bed when she's not working. She complains about being tired when she gets 10+ hours a night plus a few hours of a nap in the day. If oversleeping has bad effects, I know she is experiencing them. She also gets mad at me for the dumbest things. I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else and if I should talk to her about it.

She could have depression or some sort of sleep disorder. Or she may be suffering from some other medical condition that she has chosen not to share with you or that is undiagnosed. Perhaps you should try and talk to her about it in a non confrontational manner.

She sounds depressed. Ask her what's bothering her.

It is easy to fall into that kind of rut. I've been there although only for a short time. I guess you can call it a kind of depression but rather than medicate or making a doctor rich and you poorer compounding the problem, she needs to find a way to motivate herself out of the rut.
I got there because I had nothing that really I had to do before 3pm. I'd come home from work at midnight and sleep till 1 or 2 pm I was tired all the time. Now I get up around 7am, (don't want too most of the time), but I get up and go for a bike ride, 15 or more miles. Even when I had covid with the exception of 2 days I rode but not as far. I'm pretty sure that helped me recover.
Either way by 9 am my day has started, I'm in a much better mood and ready for the world. Surprisingly I'm seldom tired or depressed. Finding the motivation will be the problem.

Is a bad idea to confront her because im like that too and whenever someone ask me what's wrong or if i need help i get so pissed off idk if that is just me but then again i guess you could try if she really wants help because not all people needs help.

She could be struggling mentally. If youre going to bring anything up it would probably be a better idea to just address the confrontations and not her sleep habits.

I have a really hard time motivating myself and I sleep way too much. But I do not have anger issues.
