It means a lot, I was raised in a biological family, but my grandfather became an orphan in WWI, and he never talked of anything that was before the war. Then he got an Alzheimer's and asking anything was pointless.
I could never find anything related to that side of the family except for the fact that he was German.
My mom's side was super easy, though. A lineage of a small village blacksmiths.
