Is it normal to want to have your amputated leg stuffed and mounted
My brother Eddie is facing the prospect of having one of his legs amputated in a few weeks and he's been investigating the possibility of getting his amputated leg back from the hospital and then having it stuffed and mounted in a glass case at home. He's contacted several taxidermists and they mostly told him they wouldn't do the job of stuffing a human leg. One of them even called him a weirdo. The only taxidermist who said he might consider doing it was very doubtful that the hospital would actually agree to handing over the leg in the first place, so my brother asked the hospital and they said it would be highly irregular and that there's lots of legislation surrounding the disposal of amputated limbs etc., so things like that normally go straight to the incinerator. When my brother pointed out that it was his leg not theirs, they said they'd look into the matter but they reckoned it was unlikely that permission would be given for the leg to be released so he could have it stuffed. Everyone seems to think my brother is carrying on like some kind of creepy weirdass, but surely he's within his rights to want to reclaim his leg and have it stuffed so he can put it on display in his living room as a conversation piece. So what do you reckon? Is it normal to want your stuffed leg on display or is it not normal at all? The guy's my brother so I don't like to be too judgemental myself.
