I was in the same situation. Be sure your friend is cool with all aspects of your intentions. If your only intention to to screw her and not respect her, your friend might not like that. When it happend to me, my friend said he didn't mind his sister and I hooking up. We just had sex with eachother a few times, and my friend was just fine with it. To this day he is still one of my best friends, and she and I are still friends, although we married different people. Many marriages have started out this way. It sounds like you do respect her because you explain her personality as being "sweet." If this is the right girl for you, don't pass up the opportunity to make something great of it. Your friend might hold you in high esteem, which means he would rather you be with her that another guy, and she also said she would rather it be with you rather than another guy. It looks like you might need to take the next step. Oh, and you don't have to marry her.
