Is it normal to want to go to parties but have nobody to go with?

Is it normal that sometimes I want to go party but I cannot find anybody to go to parties with me? I may have 1 or 2 people to ask but if they can't go, then I have nobody else to go out with. The next day when they ask me if I went out the other night, sometimes I lie and pretend that I have other friends when in reality, I just sat at home because I had no other friends to go out with.

    I am a girl living in a big city so going solo isn't very safe...

      No I don't think this is normal. If you go to a party generally you go alone. I was never escorted to a party. Not once in my life. So I don't understand how its a requirement. You just go, get some free food, hang out, socialize. I been to parties when I was little 6 and when I was older 18. I am not 18 anymore and have not been to one in awhile. Though if you know its going to be an unsafe party I would just not go.

    Yeah normal. Sometimes you really can't find anyone to go with you. But you really shouldn't limit yourself because of that. Go to the parties/events that interest you! Don't let people's perspectives influence you. "Ride Solo" hehe have fun!

    go by yourself. it shows that you are confident and secure...plus it will give you a chance to network if you aren't tied down to the people you went to the party with.

    Its normal i do that too except at my school dances i end up going by myself but at the end i found a nice girl who i love
