Is it normal to want to go to art school but dont want to be a burden

Okay, so I want to go to art school. But the fee is too much. Its always been a dream... my father can afford it but I dont want him to spend so much money... he has said its upto me whether i want to choose to go or not....Im just confused whether I should follow my dream and go to art school or not.

Is It Normal?

  • Please do it, if someone whats to help you follow your dreams take all the help that you can. It's awesome that you got that opportunity! Good luck in art school if you choose to go and I hope you make some great art.

  • You don't have to go to art school to be an artist. Seek alternative forms of education. Don't start your career with debilitating debt.

  • Same here. I'm just going to go for something more practical then hopefully get a well-paying job then I can pay for art school myself.. and until then work on projects independently.. like contests and that sort of thing, to get into the field a little for free

  • Student loans...and yes! If this is really something you want, then go for it. You have been given a gift.

  • No it's not normal. If it was the majority of university students would be in art school.

  • Go for it!!!! Follow your dream because, you may just become the next Van Gogh or Monet. You are lucky that your father can afford it. I doubt that he would consider you a burden for doing this.
