Is it normal to want to get rid of missionaries?

I don't believe in organized religon. It is not a crime so why am I plagued by Mormon missionaries and Jehovah Witnesses? It started normally enough, they caught me in a moment of weakness (I twisted my ankle and needed help with the carrying in my groceries).

Now they are on my doorstep every other day giving me new papers and asking me if I want to hear about the "Prophet Joseph Smith".

I am a spiritualist and feel like I am leading them on spiritually. But I have tried to be nice about it saying things like. "I am satisfied with my spiritual life" and the even more vague "Yes i was sleeping I work night shift" So I guess my problem is this. I don't want to be rude but how the hell do I find deliverance from 'deliverance?'

    You can be respectful of what missionaries are doing and what they believe in while setting healthy boundaries for yourself.

    I would be annoyed too at their unwanted persistence. Maybe you're being too nice and not direct enough. Instead of saying you were sleeping, be honest. Tell them that you've had people show up several times, that you've told them more than once that you weren't interested, and that they need to stop coming to your house.

    My dad used to purposely argue with them and question their beliefs. They'd come back with a retort to his questions and he'd just ask more that they didn't have an answer to so they'd co
    E back again. It is part of their beliefs that everyone can be saved and to not give up on people. Eventually the one guy said he didn't think my dad could be converted and the stopped coming.

    If you are confident in your spirituality they should respect your choice. If they don't, pull out some spiritual literature of your choosing- maybe the I-Ching, a book on Hermes, some Alister Crowley, the Kabala, or Black Elk Speaks and ask them to stay a while.

        hippies? lol they dont door knock here, they just chain themselves to trees or fight the japs to stop whaling. but if a hippie came to my door, offering peace through smoking pot and listening to jimi hendrix... hey i wouldnt say no lol

    Jehovah Witnesses are so rude, annoying, and thick. You could be eating dinner and they do not care. Your soul must be saved then and there. Same for those Mormons on bicycles.

      You sound like pathetic losers. You sit there, waiting for them to come, so you can open the door naked? Really? You sit there, looking through the blinds, giggling like daft fools? Yeah, you're cool. Really mature. Just man up (or girl up), and tell them o thank you. Ask them (politely) to put them on their do not call list. Do you think Jehovah Witnesses like waisting their time every Saturday on ungrateful, rude, pathetic people like you? They're people too, and they have better stuff to do. But they actually care. They want to do some good in the world. Stop being ignorant....

    Try living in utah, where all you see is mormons EVERYWHERE. In utah, you make fun of mormons and they act like you made a terrorist threat. Everywhere else in the USA EVERYONE makes fun of them. I know this, Im an athiest that lives in utah

    Normal. I've had the same three Jehovas Witnesses come to my door once every week.

    I've told them I'm a Baptist and I'm sticking to it. I've told them, "No you can't come inside even though it's raining because my house is a mess", and FINALLY, I told them my husband was on his way home and he would be very upset to find them on our doorstep.

    I guess the last one did it because they haven't been back for a couple of months.
