Is it normal to want to get "revenge" on you dad becuase of your childhood?

my dad's an ass and as i've gotten older, though i hardly speak to him i still want to do things ("bad" things)to see him react and to see if he blames himself

Is It Normal?

  • Revenge never seems to end well IRL. Finding some way to move on would probably be a better solution if you can. Maybe write him a letter, let everything out and see how you feel.

  • I fully understand the urge for revenge and punishment, but it's not going to change what he did, and it's highly unlikely it will make him a better person or improve your relationship with him.

Better to simply accept that he's an asshole who should never have become a parent, and to totally remove him from your life.
