I took two weeks off once, and set off from home deciding to always take the next train that was leaving the station, no matter where it was going. At the end of the first day, I ended up in another country, in bleak midwinter, at 9pm with nowhere particular to stay. I managed to persuade a very nice lady at a B&B to let me stay, despite the B&B being closed.
The pattern continued as I criss-crossed countries at random, never knowing where I'd be sleeping that night (often not even knowing what country). Half the people reading this will be horrified as they're the ones who need a plan; the other half will be exhilarated at the thought of what I did.
If you're in that second half, then you do need to get out and have an adventure of your own. Make it personal to you and be spontaneous and you'll have something you'll remember for life.
Bleach baby-I am no where near rich and spoiled. How you get rich and spoiled out of what I wrote tells me what kind of person you are for even assuming that over the internet.
Dappled- I thank you for sharing that with me. I was hoping for more posts like yours. Very inspiring and that sounds like a good plan. Trains are probably a better way to go then hitch hiking rides.
Is it normal to want to experience homelessness?
