I would try out all your other options first - ask for support from a friend, talk to a counselor, talk to your doctor, join a support group or join a class or something of the sort (a hobby or skill you've always wanted to master) which would give you something to look forward to. If you still feel you need to commit yourself, visit a psych ward first to see if you think you'd belong there.
