Is it normal to want to become a minister because I need money?

  • It depends what sect of Christianity you're trying to be a minister/priest/ pastor for. I can't say anything about the others, but Catholicism and the denominations closely related don't really put any emphasis on memorizing the bible.

As for the morality, I'm not sure. You could go talk to a minister somewhere and see what their advice is.

    • I said minister that means not Catholic. I also said Christian and most Catholic never refer to themselves as Christian. So no I am not trying to be a priest. Catholic is called a priest not a minister.

      • I realize that. There are many sects of Christianity that are similar to Catholicism that call their heads of church ministers.

And every catholic should refer to themselves as Christian as it simply means believing Jesus was the messiah.

        • Yes Catholic and Christians are similar. However most branches of Christians broke off from Catholicism. Yes they all believe in god and have very similar customs. However a lot of Catholic do not consider themselves Christians. I personally do not see why Catholic and Christians should not get along. Also many Christians seem to hate Catholic for some reason.
