Is it normal to want to become a minister because I need money?

  • You still have to go to school for that. And then you get placed where needed, not usually of your choosing. And then you are on call 24 hours a day and expected to actually help people. Sure, you can make a living wage, but please don't do the work for the money. That is not what it's about.

    • Yes but the work I can get right now are horrible and do not pay a lot. Why do you expect I would not actually help people? If I get paid is just plus. It is better doing it for pay next to doing it for free and getting no appreciation.

      • I don't mean to sound negative. If your intention is to help people, I'm sure you will. But your post made it sound like your motivation was more about the money than about helping.
