Is it normal to want to be mute?

Sometimes I just want to not be able to speak. Sometimes I feel like words are useless, I express myself better with, well, expressions, mostly because I don't have many people to talk to, even more on this pandemic, and when people talk to me I mostly just add to the conversation with one-word replies. Not talking makes me feel kinda bad, however, so I feel like if I just straight didn't have the ability to do it things would be easier. People who knew me wouldn't bother me with the "YoU'Re So QuIet" because I would have an excuse. So, is it normal?

Why don't you just take a vow of silence. Carry a card on you that explains it all.

You'd have to learn sign language or carry an augmentative communication device, and you would still have to communicate with people.

No, sometimes people are just mute without any of that. It’s perfectly fine, just different.
