Is it normal to want to be get ito a fight?

Even if I don't dislike someone, I feel the need to fight them. I just want to get into a real fight. I've never been in one but have been training in self-defense for 2 and a half years now. Even with the training, I feel like I could never win in a fight, and yet I still want to be in one. I don't randomly piss people off; however, if I feel an argument is heading in the direction of a fight I don't try to stop it.

Is it for sport, or is it because you have a weak ego and wish to assert dominance over another person?

For the former, I would suggest you go into fighting for sport, it is a great way to prove and hone your skill. For the latter, I suggest you get over yourself. Or buy a lifted F-350.

Haha I love the lifted truck comment. These 'bro' rednecks think their so tough and wear tapout clothes, big trucks, they never ever dare come to my part of Los Angeles, they would get a) car jacked b) car shot at or c) pulled out of car and beat down, shit I've seen a few of these 'bros' start a fight with the wrong Mexicans and got beat to death with bricks and head stomps.

    • I agree with the most of it, but hey! I drive a lifted f-150! :/ and 350s are gorgeous.. *drool*.

yeah, I realize there's a certain stereotype attached to that, like those ridiculous rubber balls and horns, but don't generalize!

I love fighting with my mates (: We each have a different fighting style which we pit against each other.

Honestly, I used to fight quite a bit when I was younger, now me and my friends have a sort of "fight club" without all the destroy the world stuff.

We will full on bare knuckle fight until somebody gives up or goes unconscious. I never get pissed at people, I am a very calm guy, but something about the physical competition, and the pitting yourself against another person is addictive! The upside is that it keeps my body in amazing shape, and if I ever did happen to get into a random fight with a stranger I would be just fine lolz. Downsides being covered in bruises and cuts, and I accidentally broke a tooth and had to get it fixed!

I recommend getting into sport fighting, or messing around with friends in this way. In a real fight, the other person might not stop when the fight is over, hell you could end up dead!

I once loved to fight. Years ago my friends and I were once in some kind of a teenage gang, and we had been into several fights at the school grounds and the streets. I once broke one of my enemies's leg, by kicking him hard on the shin! My dad, a lawyer saved me from legal troubles. I had since given up fighting but am ready to defend myself when I have to.

I've boxed for eleven years and trust me there is no joy like the puzzled look on who your fighting because they are over whelmed and cant handle it and their simply confused on the sheer one sided dominance. The look says damn...why cant I hit him? How does he manage to keep landing the same blows on the exact spot. Does he ever get tired? Id love to fight tommythecat mr hard ass ex con, Id love to go gloves off with this fool.

    • Not feeling pain isn't a good thing, as your body uses it to inform you how much damage you are taking. You talk big but you wouldn't last two seconds in prison with that attitude, you'd be beaten to a pulp or murdered. Bob Erler was a golden glove boxer and former green beret, got his ass kicked in prison by an untrained guy like me. Your just another puss that hasn't done time and thinks they're tough.

          That whole statement is insecure.

And it's easy to call me a liar when you don't know me. So what if your not as badass or whatever as me? Why does it hurt your ego so much.

"did your time (if even you did) at a county jail, i dont talk big the fact is its a sport ive done for a long time so obviously I would cream you"

We only have one Medium/Maximum security prison in my state, so no i did time with the worst of the worst. I was in medium, but the truth is it's still quite dangerous because alot of blokes from maximum security get transfered to medium, not to mention there are enough hardcases and loons in medium as it is. And i don't box so obviously you'd win, but they don't box in prison they kill you or stomp your head into the ground. I'm only telling you to adjust that "i'm so tough" attitude if you ever go to prison because you'll get killed instantly.

            • Shut the fuck up you, all you try to do is fight with me and fail due to your lack of wit. Just like this MrDraper puss.

Risdon Prison. We don't have "county" down here.

  • I've been in several, and trust me you don't want to be in a fight as getting hit hurts. I was also in a scuffle (i didn't start it, i was just in the wrong place at the wrong time) with a pedo in prison and given an infraction. Fighting is shit so only do it if you have no choice. You don't want to go to jail, it's frightening.

Once you've boxed for a substantial amount of time, getting hit by the average person doesn't hurt.

I've felt like that before but I know I'm weak so I stick to play fighting where I dont get hurt and I get to have fun.

I've been in a few fights, some I've come out on top, others not so much. Thing is you never know how it's gona go, last time I was in one it was me and one friend against about 4 or 5 guys and then by the end there was about 12 of them, I some how walked away unharmed but my friend wasn't so lucky. Aswell a couple of week ago a few of my other friends got into a fight and one of them got bottled in the eye and it is a right mess, he will probably always have a big scar underneath it now. My only advice is only get into a fight if your prepared to loose and can have a good laugh about it later.

Oh and another thing your self defense shit won't help you one bit. I've done jujitsu and taekwondo for quite a long time and trust me you would be a fool to try and defend yourself using that.

Nope, trained martial arts alone won't hold up against true dirty ass street fighting.

Well, if you allow me to throw some freudian psychology in this...

Everyone has the urge to destroy things or assert their dominance over something. There are different ways to satisfy that urge. Some do it by making art, playing sports or videogames, others do it by binge drinking, drug abuse, having verbal fights, etc.

Fighting is the most basic way to satisfy that urge. While it's not the most healthy way to deal with it, it's an option. If you're really into fighting, I suggest you take boxing lessons or something like that. The fighting there is harsher than in the usual self defence class, but everything is regulated. So there's less chance of something going seriously wrong.
