There's nothing wrong with wanting to change your gender, and if your friends think otherwise then those are not true friends. If I were you I would defiantly think alot about your decision before undergoing a sex change .
Its your life and I think you should do what you want. Whether its wanting to be more feminine or bulking up like those giant body builders, there will always be assholes who give dirty looks or make stupid remarks but its your life, not theirs. Its the only one you'll ever get so do what makes you happy. If your friends have a problem with it then I suspect they aren't really good friends. So I say go for it.
