If you pay attention to human story telling we really love when the protagonist loses and is beaten down. That losing and being beaten down is what being a human is essentially but by the ending they are better off from where they started is a personal taste.
Did anyone else read Ready player one? I was expecting for the twist of the protagonist being actually the worst kind of gamer and what we should not strive to be. He was terrible and should of not won.
Can you list some of these movies? I don't watch movies because I hate Hollywood installed 'good guys' winning but now there's an alternative I might well start to.

It’d make stories more interesting and there’s a new trend for movies without a happy ending so I’d say it’s normal.
