I wouldn't say that it's normal though it could be understandable. There may be a certain thrill in one upping your fellow man and taking what belongs to him, it would lead you to feel superior. When it comes to infidelity, the real person to blame is the person in the relationship, not the person they turn to when they should be taking care of their problems at home.
