I think, OP, you'd better describe the differentiation between "good" and "bad" genes.
Things like sex, eye and hair color, height, weight, etc. It's very subjective. Good to one person could be bad for another and vice versa.
So what? Male, blond haired, blue eyed, above 5'11", below 190lbs, above 7" uncut? Have we learned nothing from Star Trek (The Eugenics Wars)?
Is it normal to want genetically engineered children?
