  • What turned me against traveling alone was a trip to New Orleans by myself. Again I just caught a bus from the airport to my Hotel which was on Canal street in the heart of the city. My bus ride to the hotel didn't actually go past the hotel so I had to get off and walk about a half mile. No problem, again I just went to the first liquor store and purchased a beer for the walk. On my way there I saw a couple getting robbed by knife point. I just casually walked right past them and strolled on down the street. I met a couple of older ladies and hung out with them for awhile, went to a concert to see Luther Vandross, Patti Labelle and some other side line acts. It was a good trip until I got sick, I spent the whole day in my hotel room feeling like I was going to die. Finally on the day I was supposed to leave I gathered up enough strength to make it to the airport. I was still sick for about 3-4 days after I got home. I was like okay thats my last trip alone. Bad thing too is I could have gotten laid by a lady I met at the casino.

    • Then there was the time I took a weekend trip to get my dick sucked from someone I met on the Internet. She was married too. She picked me up at the airport and took me to her jobs parking lot to give me some head in her van. I ended up banging her before she had to leave and go home. I didn't want to tell her where I was staying or that I was going to be there the weekend so I just had her drop me off at the mall and told her I was going to be staying with my cousin. From there I took a bus to my hotel, did some shopping, had some hellava BBQ, listened to some great live music and went back home Sunday night.

      • Oh yeah the safely aspect of being together is one of the main reasons I go with someone especially to a place where crime can be an issue.

I generally stick to "safe" areas if there is such a thing when I go alone.

Yeah I generally try to utilise public transport as much as possible when travelling as I find it is a good way to relax and enjoy what is around you. When I visited the US - being from a country that drove on the left, I drove but didn't enjoy it as I had my eyes fused to the road and mirrors and didn't enjoy what was around me.
