Is it normal to want a purple and black kitchen?

  • That would be far from the dumbest kitchen I've ever seen.

Kitchens are generally done in light tones because most people like the idea of being able to see dirty surfaces in an area where food is prepared. Most people also like to be able to see what the hell they're doing when they're working with sharp implements and sources of high heat; white or light shades and reflective metal surfaces bounce light around and so reduce the number of dark corners.

But if you never actually cook and if you just want to be different, on you jolly well go. I imagine pictures of the result would get you a few moments of minor fame on social media, so I guess you might consider that would justify your efforts to be unique.
