Its not wrong... but, its only a small minority of the population who consider it normal.
As for cheating... While its very true that the older people (and older genearations) that it was primarily a male dominated activity. Many studies for the current younger generation (below 30) indicate that in general that has balanced out its a lot closer to 50/50 for males and females for the younger generations...
