If you eat slow-burning carbs at dinner then they should last you over night so you're a little less hungry in the morning. Whole grain is a good example. 8 hours without any food, even when you're in a restful state (asleep), still requires energy - you still burn calories simply by being alive.
If you're body is telling you you're hungry, unless you have a health condition that interferes with your metabolism, it's because your body is running low on something it needs. It's normal to be hungry in the morning to a certain extent, but if you feel like you're starving then that's not quite right.
