Is it normal to try to make a movie book?

I have this idea to make a horror book that is very light on writing content, heavy on the photos and other more "visual" items but most definitely tells a story. It doesn't seem like a book, more like a movie but it's NOT a movie, it's a damn book! Not like a goddamn comic book either damn it and not like a daggone flip book either. Gaddamn. When you're finished "reading" my book, first you'll say "damn!" and then you won't have a clue if what you just read actually happened or not and a year later you won't be able to remember if you saw this as a movie or saw this story on the news or what the hell it was.

Is this a normal story format? I've never seen a book like this but then again I haven't looked for one either. I guess you might describe it as a "found footage" book. Sort of. I mean, damn, not exactly but that's a damn close goddamn concept.

Is It Normal?

  • Normal. It reminds me of the Harry Potter world, in how pictures are capable of moving. I'd say, do go for it!

  • You're either describing a picture book, an art book, or a comic book - anything else is theoretically nonexistent until you prove otherwise.
