Is it normal to try a nazi war criminal at 97 years of age?

I see that 97 year old Sandor Kepiro (who I think murdered 34 people in WW2) has been caught in Hungary. Do you think an elderly man should be tried for war crimes or is it too late? Does it warrant the costs as well?

Is It Normal?

  • That cunt should be burned alive the fact that he's 97 doesn't make his heinous crimes vanish into thin air I hope some sick perverted bastard fucks his ass in prison

  • If u want a real effedup situation, just check out the Rwandan Genocide of the 7000 intarahamwe miltia arrested for the massacres, only a few dozen of them had PTSD or any of the signs phycolugysts attribute to true remorse, the new country didn't have the recourses to keep them all in prison, so know? theyre free, all of them, living in the same communities with the people who managed to survive them by escaping,

  • I'd say it depends on his attitude towards it now.
It was a long time ago, and he maybe completely remorseful, or even changed views entirely.
I don't know anything of him or the news, but it's odd he wasn't charged earlier or turned himself in. That raises some eyebrows..

  • It doesn't matter what age you are, there are repercussions for crimes.

  • He says he didn't kill anyone himself, he just sorted through the possessions of the murdered people and counted the money.

He also says he's remorseful, but he didn't turn himself in, did he?

  • Yes. He deserves to have Justice swiftly come Down on him.

  • They should torture that bastard

  • He is going to die of old age but I think he should be tried and convicted so that he dies knowing that there are consequences no matter how old you are

  • The great justice is if he came unto repentance with god if he didn't when he gets to the other side god will handle it I think he's 97 he'll get justice from god. Unless he's come to terms with god just let the old man be have faith god will handle it.

  • Mengele is also known as the Angel of Death and was never prosecuted for his actions and lived out his life in hiding until as late as 1985 which is sickening.

  • I've been studying the Holocaust for the last three years, a famous trial was that of Adolf Eichmann who was not as old as this but was tried and executed after which Hannah Arendt coined the phrase 'the Banality of Evil'. She was expecting to see a monster in the court room but instead a frail old man sat before her who pleaded guilty even though there was no evidence to suggest Eichmann actually killed anyone directly as he was responsible for the logistics of the Holocaust, i.e the movement of people from ghetto's to the extermination camps. (clearly he had deep regrets for what he and others had done during the Holocuast). If you're interested search for Josef Mengele possibly the most evil person who took an active role in the Holocaust, nevermind Hitler.

  • If he is or was a Nazi then yes he should be punished

  • personally i think it'd just be a waste of time. yes he did something wrong but hes so old now. he isn't gonna last much longer. he might die before the trial even happens.

  • It's understandable to want to give him what he deserves, but it depends on weather he is remorseful or not. (I am not in any way supporting the holocaust I believe that it was a vicious crime against innocent families) but don't you think it's kind of Like opening another can of worms? he's freaking 97. He's gonna die in like 3 years anyway.

  • He has to pay for his crime sooner or later

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • That's the point of justice... To pay for what you did wrong and change... And of course to teach others that if you kill people, mo matter how old you are, you can still be somebodys girlfriend in jail.

  • i have mixed feelings about this.... i am totally and completely against any nazi beliefs and what they did was absolutely awful. but 97 seems a bit old. they're not exactly gonna stay in jail that much longer anyway, so they're as good as dead anyway. i'm not sure what i would do.
