I am a female.
I have been virtually rejected by the vast majority of women my age that I meet because I am a tomboy. I probably won't have more than one or two good female friends my age until I have children, which will be the only way that I will be able to relate to women my age. It's unfortunate that males are rejected from their gender, but it happens to females too. I had to make some serious behavioral modifications (I had to "lady up") to find the favor in men that I do now.
A woman's worst enemy is often another woman. They constantly assassinate eachothers self-image, parenting skills etc. Somehow, it means more when a woman says it than when a man says it. We are programmed to be "cooperative", and in the modern context, that can lead to hurting oneself to conform to another female's standards, no matter how air-brushed, how plastic or how painted and polished they are.
Both sides have their perks, but detriments as well. It's easy to say that the grass is always greener, especially when you will never actually know. I'm not saying that it is harder to be a woman than to be a man or vice-versa, but I am not going to judge someone's misery or hardship in life as being less than another's because of their genitalia. I have seen widows suffer as males and females, the poor suffer as males and females and I truly do believe that suffering is suffering... no matter your race, sex, gender, creed etc. To think that being male or female someone adds to or reduces the validity of the suffering is a thought process that has caused great evil in the world...
Is it normal to think women have happier/easier/better lives than men?
