There's no evidence available to convince me we "transcend this plane" and become "beings of energy" when we die. So that justification for your decision that we're primitive doesn't really work for me.
We're incredibly complex organisms, and this complexity perhaps isn't fully appreciable in every day life. But when you put us under a microscope, when you realise how elaborate and intricate our bodies are, we no longer seem so primitive.
