  • Depends. Sometimes they're hilarious, but other times they aren't. One of the funniest things to me is when someone ends up accidentally saying something completely different just by misspelling a word, especially when the new misspelled word somehow makes more sense than the original word. The only example I can think of at the moment happened ages ago, but it was on a post where the OP was asking if he was a cannibal, and ended up saying "a few mouths ago", rather than months. That made me laugh quite a lot:P. Accidental humour is my favourite!:D

So yeah, sometimes it's the best. Although, sometimes it can make me cringe. A lot of the time I'm just indifferent, though.

    • I looove those too! :D That is something similar to what I call "casual poetic translations" that softwares perform sometimes. They simply cannot choose the exact word from a certain range of possibilities and go with the most common and end up making interesting combinations that one would never come up with otherwise. They end up making sense and some sort of poetry or some kind of funny. You'd probably get a kick out of it!

        • Precisely! It's sheer brilliance! One of the finest in our "playground "! ;)

      • Ha, that does sound like something I would like:D! And speaking of translations, it's pretty funny seeing what online translators come up with as well. Especially when you write something in English, put it through several different languages and then translate it back into English. It's always really jumbled up:P.

Translated several times version: "If this sounds like something you want, 500! And speaking of the translations, it's ridiculous that he may see that the online translators to come as well. To write in Latin, especially if they are in other languages and translated into Latin. Forever is a very random:p"

Thought I'd demonstrate just how jumbled up it really is. Hehehe, words are funny!:D God knows how what I wrote ended up like that. Slightly irrelevant to the post, but it still made me laugh:P.

        • That was brilliant :D I went to a show a few years ago where she was "teaching" us how to write love songs, using the "Shakira" method of translating a song into Spanish then back into English using Google. I found the results a few months back and laughed so hard I cried.

Not sure what the orignal was, but I remember the end version had the chorus of "We are oh so gay and it makes the love! In a sleigh! In a sleigh! Whinny whinny vote against! Oh the lover has a vote of two!"

          ...what?

          • Haha, that's hilarious! I love putting in lyrics and getting them translated and all muddled up. Hehe, "the lover has a vote of two".:D

"In a sleigh! In a sleigh!" It's Christmas in like a month as well, we could so make this song the next big hit:P. We've already got genius lyrics, we just need some Reindeer for this sleigh and a catchy beat and we're sorted!:D

            • I found the full lyrics!

              THE WHINNY SONG

Let me to kiss on its soft lips and humidity
Almost similar lips to the skin
Let me to feed on hair, dear long Candy
              And camel's breath to win
Their chests, one a little smaller than the other,
Are as unequal pears bring to me in their feet
Let me to splash in its pool
As a hairy boy splashes in one with his foot - oh!

We are so gay and it makes the love
and it escapes far and by the bay, and roller in the hay
In a sleigh, in a sleigh, Whinny! Vote against!
WHinnies the one of their legs of horse
              Prancing in front of two
Of the lover has taste of two

Like two lovers in high ecstacy
I love you even more than you could love
To me behind always possibly scratches my later part
AND I to you also you will do, also.
Let me to kiss and count the ways...
No. You must count For him is incorrect
              So that she does first
So before do you it first she does before it

              CHORUS x2

It's even more beautifully fucked up than I remembered :')

          • Haha, yay!:D It went through quite a few languages. It went:

            English to French
            French to Galician
            Galician to German
            German to Hungarian
            Hungarian to Latin
            Latin to English

Google translate amuses me. "Forever is a very random":P.

            • Hey, Nanah! I've been meaning to tell you this. I mentioned this en passant to my father, who shares the same appreciation for languages and cultures, and he was very entertained. He said "How interesting! It's what I used to do back in my time with several people I met of different origins but that took ages to translate back." I just thought it was an interesting bit to tell ya. ;)

      • Woah! +1, great comment.

At first I thought you were an intelligent yet serious minded poster, but you must see that is was the proof I needed to show you're pretty funny too!

        Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Only the funny ones that change the whole meaning of a sentence.

e.g. "shit" instead of "sit" or "shirt"

    • I envisage this sentence would seem insolent to you, if you weren't such a corpulent ignoramus. However, I want to avoid all ambiguity, when I say that your frail and miniscule intellect is likely not to be able to comprehend its full ramification.

      • If he has big thumbs he's probably a bit more on the "rotund" side of things, rather than "corpulent"

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • Although the insult sounds intellectual, it is not an efficient use of English. Plus I have heard it in similar forms, even before the days of the internet. Reference technical writing, its important to not waste peoples time with superfluous words. Dribble doesn't improve support the subject. In this case, can't you just call me a cockhead or something because your insult would be just as effective without you coming across as a complete twat. Anyway, cheers to ya.
