they march to show they arent afraid of homophobia and they are proud and love themselves. so why is that a problem? its a beautiful thing. Just like thanksgiving parades and saint Patrick parades and whatever other parades many people celebrate but of course you have a problem with lgbt parades.. smh. to march is to celebrate life and how far they have come from being locked in the shadows and in hiding who they love. also you have no idea how the lgbt community would react, so stop making assumptions. also being straight has never known flat out discrimination or hatred for loving another person.
Yeah but we live in a world where the majority of the LGBTQ are accepted. You don't see heterosexuals marching for being straight. If they LGBTQ was being oppressed by the government then yeah, march away. But it's not, you guys are accepted and we need to be concentrating on actual problems instead of on a group of people who still want to appear mainstream.
Instead of marching here try doing something about the laws in other countries that see being gay as a crime.
Women were discriminated against for centuries and we make up about half the population. But you don't see us all out on parade getting drunk and causing chaos just because we were born female. I have nothing against gays or transexuals or any other groups, I just get sick of them trying to ram their sexuality down everybody else's throats. I don't give a shit who they screw or how they screw them, so why the fuck should I be forced to hear about it!
IM ANNOYED BECAUSE I KEEP HEARING THE SAME SHIT, SO IM GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE, NO ONE IS TRYING TO FORCE ANYTHING DOWN YOUR DAMN THROAT!!!!! PEOPLE ARE JUST TRYING TO CELEBRATE LIFE! FOR FUCK SAKES, LET GO OF YOUR PETTY ANNOYANCE AND LIVE YOURS. IF YOU HEAR ABOUT IT, MOVE THE FUCK ON, WHY LINGER AND FEEL ANGER FOR WHAT? PEOPLE CELEBRATING LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE, GOD FORBID PEOPLE TRY TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. WHAT CHAOS, I SWEAR YOU ARE JUST MAKING SHIT UP TO PROVE SOME TYPE OF POINT. THE ONLY PEOPLE GETTING REALLY DRUNK AT ANY PARADE IS SAINT PATTYS DAY. PEOPLE GET DRUNK FOR ANY OCCASION IF YOU THINK ABOUT SMH.
Really? So expressing you're gay for the sake of looking 'hip' isn't something people do?
You're so self absorbed and you, foolishly, believe you've already experienced the best and worst of everyone but let me tell you your part of the world is just a teeny tiny part compared to Earth and you're yet to experience every type of person.
Personally, LGBTQ parades are absolutely stupid. Instead of celebrating your individuality try helping people who really need it. There's so many people who are in worse conditions than you so get off your high horse and try and do something positive for once.
Of course there are people who try to be hip by expressing their sexuality but thats not the majority. So what are your thoughts on saint patty's day parades? oh and please share what you do to help others in need? i think you are mistaken because i know i am no better than anyone on here, so there is no need for me to get off any high horse.
How do I help? I volunteer my times at shelters and charity shops. Sure, I could be going abroad to help in other countries but I don't have the time or money. Secondly, stop using Saint Patrick's Day as your only counter argument and, on that note, try telling someone who's Irish not to celebrate it. It's like telling an American not to celebrate Independence Day.
ill use Christmas eve, christmas day, new years eve and new years day, thanksgiving, womens march, super bowls wins and the fourth of july, as a counter argument then, people celebrate all the damn time even when they know there are people who need help, who are suffering and dying but that doesnt mean we are bad people, we can celebrate the good times and fight against the injustice/cruelty as well. also You just proved my point, by you saying "try telling someone who's Irish not to celebrate it. It's like telling an American not to celebrate Independence Day." so why is stupid for lgbtq to celebrate their "gay liberation" the first pride parade was after the first year anniversary of the stonewall riots, those riots came about because of homophobic police issuing unnecessary raids on the places where lgbtq people would meet and made unlawful arrests. Lgbtq people were people who needed help and they still do today. Im glad you volunteer and do some good in your community but my problem with you is, how do you know that the people who are celebrating in the lgbtq pride parades aren't doing anything good for their own communities? you don't. right now i'm a proud gay man, in school studying human services, which will prepare me to help my community and give back. here's a tip on helping people, don't compare struggles and deem one worthy and the another not, because that's not right or fair. Don't let your bias opinions dictate on how you help people. A problem may seem little to you but to someone else its huge. stop making assumptions on people you do not know. Thats just my personal opinion.
Too true! If women march it's for a cause, usually. MADD, Women's Rights, Pro-choice, Pro-Life and even the Slut Walks are all causes, not just saying, "hey look at us, we're here". Well, maybe the Slut Walks are saying, "hey look at us we're here" , but they're also trying to make a statement.
The truth is that I'm not homophobic, I don't hate gay people, but I do find the attitudes of certain gay people to be very annoying, and even offensive in certain circumstances.
The truth is i don't hate straight people, its just people like you who are so ridiculous, who find any little thing to complain about, its fucking annoying and really makes you look like a petty jealous fool. i feel sorry for you.
for so many years lgbtq were oppressed. afraid to love, afraid to show affection for the ones they loved. they were attacked, Police brutality, discriminated against and murdered and that's still happening today. Yes we have come a long way but evilness and hatred still live among peoples hearts. i mean damn look at this post we are talking on. its so ignorant and spiteful. if you dont see anything wrong with it, its because you dont understand what its like to be in our shoes. Also families shunning their children over their sexuality, so millions of teenagers end up homeless and alienated. they cant even escape the hatred because bullying happens in their schools. i mean the vice president is a homophobic asshole, who believes in shock therapy, which is inhumane and disgusting and just two years ago, a man shot up a gay club and killed so many innocent gay men and women because they loved someone of the same gender. The thing is people don't know much when it doesn't impact them personally. these comments, this post speaks volumes to my point. "why do they have celebrate, shoving it down our throats" "i dont hate gay people but why do they have to march, hey look at how wonderful we are, if straight people march, gays would riot". They have no idea what we went through, neither do you. do some research. We march for reasons, we celebrate for reasons, its not a pointless drunken event. just like with any other marches, there are real reasons behind them.
Is it normal to think these are the most annoying people?

There is nothing about you, or anyone like you, of which I would ever be jealous. You honestly just sound delusional.
I think some go to these parades to celebrate yes.
But these are others who probably want these because they are insecure with themselves.
A mix really. And you cant say they put them on because they are "oppressed"
Oppressed by what?

Ok, I can agree with the bullying and the discrimination. That bit's wrong.
