    Because WW2 never ends on the history channel. I don't believe I ever saw it stated in the programming that the guy had his wife kill herself and then killed himself. They probably only showed the part where the Russian forces got to him.

      LOL, good point, I guess it is pretty rare that they show the end isnt it? Its always about a certain battle or place. good observation.
