I think it really depends on what you feel you are owed. I think people do owe other people certain basic things. Parents owe their children care and support, both physical and emotional. People owe other people basic respect and dignity. Society owes its members human rights. Governments owe their citizens many things, such as clean water, passable roads, and safe streets. In that sense, the world owes everybody something.
