Is it normal to think the show “the first 48” is completely racist?

OK, I was watching TV the other day and "The first 48" was on. So my homie says: "Man dog, this show racist as hell. All they be showin' be black people on here." All of a sudden I think he right cause I ain't hardly never seen no whites on there? Does it be normal for me to notice this???

Hey BitchDog, why you whining, bro? Everybody love black people crime. Das cuz there guns, murdering, knives, bleeding, and violence wit car crashes. White people crime be boring as shit. Dem glow-in-the-dark whites be doin Ponzi scheme, securities fraud, and international money laundering shit. Nobody care about that shit unless you want to fall asleep.

What da fuck? If the story ain't got no niggs, I ain't be watchin.

PS. Good to see well trained African American law enforcement officers in da sho. They more professional about sticking to procedures than dem white monkeys wit badges.

I don't know the show you're talking about to comment.

However general comment, I don't think shows that have actors of mostly one race (any race) are necessarily racist. It just depends. Sometimes I think it's ok for certain shows to be aimed at particular demographic groups, instead of everyone wanting tokenist representation in "diverse" shows and ending up getting crumbs here and there. (Diverse casts do work great sometimes, but not every show should attempt it just to be PC)

EDIT wait is this a crime show? Debatably, given it can play into stereotypes of black crime. I'd need to see it though.

It's supposedly real homcide cases being investigated for the first 48 hours. Most of it is witness and suspect interviews. It's a good show.

A lot of it is filmed in New Orleans and Atlanta which may have something to do with the demographics of the suspects.

Location has nothing to do with it.

Decisions of parents and the outcomes of their children have EVERYTHING to do with it.

I made a statement about the demographics of the population where it's filmed. I fail to see how location has nothing to do with a specific population. You're making a different point entirely.

What point aside from statistics would you like to make?

I'm not making one "aside" from that. That is the point I am making.

That the cities where it is filmed have populations with a higher percentage of black people than white. Hence the majority of the people on the show are black.

              It's not rocket science.

I noticed it but there are black cops on it. My guess is most white people immediately request a lawyer when questioned in homicide cases. That would be a boring ass show.
