Is it normal to think that the media is extremely liberal?

  • I also only watch Al Jazeera English (because my ability to speak Arabic is awful). It's really difficult to know how accurate or honest certain news sources are being about stories so distant it's near impossible to verify - Syria is a big one at the moment. Truthers only add to the confusion and disinformation.

If you're to believe some people there are NO reliable news sources in mainstream media, but I have faith in the common journalist to desire and seek the truth. The ironic thing is the same people who will call all traditional news sources fraudulent are the ones who, without hesitation, swallow the shit spewed by conspiracy channels (Alex Jones springs to mind).

    • I didn't know if they had other versions you might understand.

I think back in the day, news was a lot more fair before it became about making money and getting ratings. You can get straight foward details on local news, they don't blast you with opinions. It is hard to find mainstream news that is truthful. Even indie journalist will sometimes put there own spin on things.

I keep hearing about this Alex Jones guy, never anything good. I don't know him though.
