I'm not too well read up on the research concerning obesity and the hindering of development but if I wasn't tired, I'd do a mild amount of research and tell you where you where to look. Google it, I am sure you will receive your answer there.
But yes, I feel that obesity probably could have hindered your development. I have seen studies concerning it, but I am not 100% sure. Common sense dictates that a body under the stress that obesity causes would fail to develop properly, childhood obesity is very dangerous to a child's development and I am willing to believe just about anything regarding the effects of obesity on the developing body. Drinking, drugs, even excess caffeine can negatively impact development.
