  • People are just curious and a bit stupid at times. It seems foreign to many, almost mythical. I have a few friends with native blood, it is somewhat common in my area. I have one friend who is full Klamath and has a story that she paints into amazing pieces of art. She wants to tell her story and I am happy to listen. Having a degree in Anthropology, I am very curious as to the modern cultural behaviors that exist within the tribes and how they fit into the modern American society. So I ask questions. However, I usually let them bring it up before I start probing. I am aware that many don't feel very connected to that aspect of their heritage. But if they do, I would love to hear stories. But I am tired of the casino debate, so let's not talk about that.

    So I'm curious. What tribe?

      • You should teach them. Or you could teach me something. How would you say, "all is well" in Havasuapi?
