Is it normal to think that inanimate objects have feelings too?

  • Flowers talk to each other by giving out airborne chemical signals when they are under attack. Other nearby flowers pick up on this and either close up or release toxins or do whatever they can to defend themselves.

How is it any different from humans having chemical signals fly around their bodies, sometimes turning them to verbal warnings or expressions of pain?

I'm not saying it's at the same level and we should all suddenly respect the rights of flowers, but it is the same thing, and we should at least consider that we share similarities before we dismiss them out of hand.

Costs nothing extra to have an open mind.
