While I do love holidays the op makes a very good point. Yes people should be nice to each other all years but they simply don't.
I like holidays as you get to see all the people you can not on regular bases because of work or living arrangements or whatever else.
You can not have holidays everyday either because that would be very expensive. I think people are just festive by nature and like celebrating dates like birthdays and holidays.
So if you don't care just don't. I do have a lot of fun on them though. It also gives us weird people an excuse to dress up in funny costumes wear otherwise we would just look out of place. Not all of us have the nerve to dress in costume everyday like many cosplayers.
IIn to think that Christmas cheer is ridiculous ?
