Hah, the only time I'll randomly share that shit is if I'm too drunk and it comes up in conversation. XD
I see where you're coming from, but it's an odd dichotomy. A lot of people lie about it for attention. I knew a girl in college who was raped by every guy she dated for 2 years, and she jumped from guy to guy a lot.
At the same time a lot of *actual* victims never come forward to make a report, because so many people lie about it. And you almost never hear from male victims at all, which pisses me off to no end. Yeah, a man *didn't* want to have sex with a woman, GET OVER IT, it's still fucking rape.
I know I didn't report mine. The most recent "assault" could have very well been an accident on the guys part, without getting into details.... The other two were from years ago by the time I thought maybe I should go to the police, even with the statute of limitations it would have been too hard to prove, no hard evidence.
A lot of victims do not come forward for these reasons. They are either embarrassed , ashamed ,guilty or just disgusted with themselves. Some of these cases have lead to suicide and you should never take these incidents as a joke. If someone tells you that they are raped you need to take it as a serious matter not laugh in their faces. Also all victims will handle this different. A lot of people who have been raped will still seem reasonably normal as people. So you might not always be able to tell. This does not make it any less real.
Is it normal To think that A lot of girls lie about sexuall abuse?
